Hello, my name is Briana and I want to welcome you to Zonas Creative Arts Studio. I have been an artist and art instructor for almost 3 decades. I have a BFA from Parsons and an MFA in Fine Arts from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
I’ve performed and shown my work in solo and group shows, nationally and internationally, including the 2016 Miami Performance International Festival and the French Institute Alliance Française in 2017. Most recently, my paintings “Rise” and “Memory Cloud” are on screen at the Saatchi Gallery in London.
My joy in teaching is: sharing and connecting with others, sharing with the creative community through Instagram @brianazonasartist, offering unique original art for your wall, art coaching or through my art retreats and workshops.

What is the difference between
Art Coaching and Art Teaching?
My roles as teacher, painter, and coach sometimes overlap but there are crucial differences.
In art coaching I have a collaborative relationship with my clients. Together we map out the support they need on their artist journey. Whether is it reviewing work they have done, finding direction or exploring a host of ideas to fuel their creativity.
As a teacher, I am asked to be the expert, imparting new knowledge and skills they do not yet have, but need, to develop their artistic potential. In this role I have the privilege of instructing students on established methods, leveling up their art and helping them harness a creative toolkit that they will draw on throughout their life.
While connected, they are by no means the same.
As a painter I am able to ignite not only my own passion, but that of others, I am able to showcase the skills I teach, model the coaching I provide, and reap the benefits of my own creative outlet.
